What does it mean to be carrier "indifferent"?

WE WORK FOR YOU
Every business has been there, they get the one-carrier-door-to-door salesman knocking at their door. Most of the time, they have great products but what do the other insurance companies have? Are their prices different? Do they have better options? How can you possibly compare all the different options when the salesman is only knowledgeable about and endorsing one carrier? This puts a lot of people in the position where they just go with whatever comes through the door when there are so many options out there. The team at Red Mountain Benefits Group work for our clients, not the insurance companies. We are prepared to do the research for you and show you all the options available.
WE PROVIDE OPTIONS
If you heard about a certain company that has benefits you like, we will look at them and compare them with others to make sure that company is the way to go. On average, we compare up to 7 insurers for our clients to choose from. Some factors our team looks at to narrow down our search are: the insurer’s rating, their customer service experiences, and their cost effectiveness...

Adjusting to the "new normal"

We are halfway through 2020 and it has been a year for the books. COVID-19 has changed many things but mostly, it has highlighted the need for affordable, reliable healthcare and healthcare technology. How has our agency changed to accommodate these unpredictable times?
IDENTIFYING THE PROBLEM
Even before COVID-19 hit, the Red Mountain Benefits Group team had been studying and learning about new forms of technology to better assist our clients. Many of the clients we serve are scattered throughout the United States and between different time zones, schedules, and needs, it can be cumbersome to talk to and advise each and every employee. Benefit management technologies have vastly changed the insurance environment. Normally, employees would be told to come to the conference room or break room on a certain work day to enroll in their benefits. They may not get all the privacy they need or the one-on-one time they need. Employees may also not have the time in their busy days to come and talk to a consultant. Our team understood these obstacles to benefits and wanted a solution.

With benefit management platforms, instead of having to be face-to-face with an consultant...

Enrollment Platforms, What's The Deal?

6/11/2020

Most health and life insurance companies have some sort of online portal for employees to look at their benefits, for HR to add and remove employees, and for both parties to see how much these benefits cost. These are great until you have multiple carriers you have to login to, then it can get quite confusing and cumbersome. With an enrollment platform, you can not only manage all benefits in one place but you can manage employees, PTO, assets, and much more.
API TECHNOLOGY
Enrollment platforms like the one our team uses use API (application programming interface)  technology to import data from different carrier sites into one easy source. It is much like how Trivago pulls information from different travel sites, and Realtor.com pulls information from different realtor sites. This software makes managing data much more streamlined. HR no longer has to go on three different carrier sites to terminate an employee, they can do it once through the enrollment platform and be done. When HR has to juggle too many different sites to put the same information in, this may lead to errors. Maybe the employee had vision with VSP and HR only terminated them on the major medical and dental with BCBS. This applies to adding employee coverage as well. It can be a lot to add the same employee’s name, address, and dependents multiple times. Since we know HR has a lot on their plates, having something that can automate this process can relieve a lot of these repetitive tasks.

Answers to some of our most asked insurance questions
We asked our followers and consultants what their most asked insurance questions are and here we will attempt to broadly answer them. Disclaimer: Every person has a different situation unique to them, some of these answers may not be applicable to you and your situation, please contact your HR or benefit consultant regarding your needs.
Q: Will this voluntary worksite policy pay even if my major medical covers it?
A: In most cases, yes! Worksite benefits include accident, critical illness, cancer, and others. Many of these pay directly to you, the policyholder or member. These policies may have a schedule of payments that are paid to you if something happens, regardless of what your major medical would have paid. The best example of this is the accident policy. Say you slip and fall at home while playing with your children and break your wrist. Your major medical will take care of some medical fees for you and pay the hospital or doctor you go to. However, your accident policy will pay a set amount directly to you. You can use this money towards your major medical co-pays or deductibles or whatever you need to, the money is yours to use at your discretion!
Q: Will my disability policy pay even if I got hurt at work and received workman's compensation?

Red Mountain Benefits Group is here to help! Businesses should look at their benefits package at least once a year to ensure employees are utilizing benefits, happy with their benefits, and to see if the benefits are still relevant. The RMBG team specializes in taking a granular look at current benefit packages and comparing them to current market offerings to ensure the best benefits at the most competitive pricing.

Oftentimes, companies get comfortable in their current package and think it will be too cumbersome or risky to look at even though they could be saving the company and employees valuable money. With RMBG, this process is as simple as sending some basic information and telling us what you are looking for and we do the rest. From finding new benefits to discussing changes and enhancements to employees, the RMBG team is moving mountains for your benefit.

Not only can we find you better benefits, we enroll them too! We usually like to visit in person so our clients know who we are but due to recent events the RMBG team is conducting enrollments remotely more frequently. RMBG has the technology to enroll benefits online or over the phone through an enrollment and HR management platform. There are a few options to this:

  • Employees can be sent a link to their email addresses where they can create an account, enroll in benefits, add dependents, and more!
  • Employees can call a licensed team member and discuss their benefits over the phone and be sent a confirmation email listing their selections and declines for their records.
  • Employees can even schedule a video call with a RMBG team member to discuss benefits and get help enrolling online.
  • We can customize these options to best suit every employee’s needs, even special circumstances beyond these options.

We have options for every employee to successfully enroll in their new benefits, no matter the technology level or situation.

Once enrollment is closed we will send customized reports to carriers and HR, just tell us what you need. HR managers will also have the option of logging into the platform and making reports themselves or managing employees.

Looking at and changing benefits has never been easier with the Red Mountain Benefits Group team on your side. Call or email us for a pressure free demo!
